The creation of a life-like doll begins with design and sculpting, where an artist crafts the initial concept, defining proportions, facial features, and overall aesthetics. Once a concept is approved, a digital model is built using 3D software, enabling precise planning for mold-making and internal skeleton placement. Master sculptors often produce a physical prototype to refine texture, expressions, and skin tone before mass production begins.
Mold making and skin material selection come next. The chosen skin material—typically silicone or TPE—is poured or injected into calibrated molds to create the torso, limbs, and head. A hollow body with an internal skeleton is assembled, usually featuring multiple ball joints for realistic articulation. Hair is rooted or implanted, and facial features are painstakingly painted to achieve lifelike depth and shading.
Quality control runs throughout assembly. Each joint is tested for range of motion, strength, and load-bearing capacity. Surfaces are checked for seams, color consistency, and overall finish. The doll then receives internal moisture and heat conditioning to ensure stability of the materials. Finally, accessories, clothing, and a protective outer wrap are added, along with care instructions and warranty information, before packaging for shipment.
